BECHEM at the 2nd Lubricants Sustainability Forum in Amsterdam

Sustainability in lubricants becomes increasingly important when it proves its worth in practice. This was precisely the focus of InventU’s 2nd Lubricants Sustainability Forum in Amsterdam, which brought together experts from the lubricants industry to discuss current developments and future challenges relating to sustainable lubricant solutions.

Representing BECHEM, our CTO, Dr Max Jopen, attended the event and shared our company’s perspective on the key issues currently shaping the industry.

In his presentation ‘Lubricants in Electric Mobility – Tribological Requirements and Challenges’, Dr Jopen highlighted the specific tribological requirements of modern electric mobility applications. It became clear that new drive concepts require far more than just new lubricant formulations. A deep understanding of friction, wear, cooling, material compatibility and electrical properties is crucial. At the same time, the tribological challenges of conventional internal combustion engines remain relevant and must be taken into account in parallel.

Dr Jopen then moderated the panel discussion ‘From the Laboratory to Reality: Do Sustainable Lubricants Deliver Measurable Performance?’ Together with Marco Bellini (Bellini SpA), Andreas Dodos (Eldon’s) and Albert Boddien (Sasol International Chemicals), they discussed the opportunities, challenges and requirements of sustainable lubricant solutions from a practical perspective.

We would like to thank InventU Fuel Series, all the speakers, partners and participants for the open exchange of ideas, the engaging discussions and the excellent networking opportunities. Events such as the Lubricants Sustainability Forum make an important contribution to jointly driving innovation forward and further developing sustainable solutions for the lubricants industry.
